 Discuss options of new building versus remodel

-Jordan was able to meet with multiple individuals who

specialize in school building projects to provide direction and

guidance for this project.

-First step is to put out an RFQ- and open bids/ applications

for a company to handle project management, engineering,

construction, SCAP-School construction assistance program

to assist with additional funding. Possibly qualify for 62.6 % of

project.

-Considering 7500 sq project current building is around

5500sq historic building 1926sq

-Reviewed survey and condition of building. Board has

reached a resolution to move forward with building new

structure versus modernization.

-RFQ (about $3000,000 will inquire about fee schedule which

is typically a percent of the total project) is for all project

management aside from the actual construction of the

building. Will then need a bid from a construction company for

actual construction of the building. Will follow the same

procedure for project management, architect and construction.

-Importance of including community purpose to building

project for assistance with community buy in.

meeting

-Will send out and review the three RFQ templates. At next

meeting committee will review, edit come to a consensus

about a final decision on what to publish.

-Dan will discuss with Greg Waiting about property lines.

-Will send out prefab pictures.

-Look into school safety plans for active shooter threat.

Mission: Orchard Prairie School Improvement Committee Mission Statement The Orchard Prairie School

Improvement Committee is charged by the board of directors for Orchard Prairie School District to oversee the

design of the new Orchard Prairie school building and surroundings as authorized by the board.

Timeline: It is anticipated the school board will submit a bond issue to the taxpayers in 2024 for funding approval.

Authority The Committee is given final authority on all design decisions and will make recommendations to the

school board on all financial, contractual, and schedule matters.

Authority: The Committee shall be the point of contact for all community groups and taxpayers for all issues

regarding the project. Responsibilities Meet at least once per month. Select architect or civil engineer as needed to

help with technical details. Work closely with the chosen architect, engineering resource, or consultant for:

Schematic design Working drawings Contractual drawings Development of project scope Budget documents Invite

input from stockholders including school board, teachers and staff, superintendent, parents, and community

members. Develop a highly efficient and attractive school designed to deliver a 21st century education. Develop

schematic illustrations for community presentation. Provide written reports each month to the board documenting

decisions and progress. Consult with NEWESD101 construction manager.
